Reviews of SheSails Seattle

Sailing with Lisa was like being with an old friend. It was a calm day with tricky, shifting light winds and I learned a ton about momentum, balance and Seattle! I also love that she supports the female sailing community. As soon as I heard about SheSails I knew they were the ones I wanted to sail with!

I went on my first sailing lesson with Captain Lisa and after a short safety lesson at the dock we were sailing within minutes! It did not take long to realize Lisa’s passion for sailing and teaching sailing. Her easy going demeanor made it stress free and easy to learn. I am signing up for more lessons!

Erik D., Seattle

My one docking lesson from SheSails took me from a confidence level of minus zero to 6 out of 10! WOW, I know who I am going to hire to teach me how to dock my dream boat I plan to own some day.

Meet Our Captains

Lisa Cole

Lisa hails from CA and a large family of sailors, but her real passion developed when she started skippering her own boat as an adult. Combining her fondness for travel and her desire to gain more sailing experience, Lisa has cruised in the US and Canadian San Juan Islands, and traveled to the Mediterranean and Caribbean to take RYA practical courses. She has sailed extensively in the Puget Sound and on Seattle’s lakes. Her love of sailing ultimately led to her decision to leave her corporate career to sail full time.

She is a graduate of the University of Washington and received her Master’s degree in education from Seattle University. Lisa has a USCG Master license with a Sailing Endorsement and an RYA Coastal Skipper Certificate. Lisa loves to introduce newcomers to the joy of sailing and is delighted to share her passion for adventures on the water.

When she isn’t teaching sailing or captaining charters, Lisa can be found racing sailboats in the Puget Sound, skiing or enjoying live music.

Rhonda Lyon

Rhonda grew up on the water in California and fell in love with sailing when she moved to Seattle and started living aboard a 36 foot sailboat.  She followed her passion for sailing and after crossing the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, she went on to earn a USCG Master license. Rhonda has international, coastal and island sailing and skippering experience including cruising and deliveries in Mexico, the Caribbean, the Bahamas and Central America.

She is a graduate of the University of New Mexico. When not on the water, she can be found traveling near and far and playing with her loyal pup, Zoe.
